Herbal Girl in a Medicated World
We are not just about TEA, but we are ALL about TEA.
The Healing Pot is a place where you come for all that the earth has provided for a healthy you.
As a child and young adult, I suffered from allergies and severe menstrual cramps. I tried over the counter medications that left me dry, drowsy and just out of touch with myself physically and sometimes emotionally. The one thing I could count on was a antidote from my Grandmother or my Aunt Lou. From hot compresses to bush teas, there was always something to assist that did not involve a trip to the drug store. Why their advice didn't come to mind while in college is beyond me. In college, I took birth control pills to regulate my cycle and ended up bleeding for weeks. I lost so much weight and finally went to my gynecologist, who did a vacuum procedure ... it was extremely scary and that was the end of my birth control pill days. I still took pain killers, but rarely as the side effects were sometimes less welcomed than the pain.
In 2003 my mother in law was diagnosed with alzheimers and my husband brought home a book about natural remedies for women (which I have to find so I can reference the author), but this book began my professional research journey with tea and how it could help women that had the same experience. I also wanted my own daughters to have a more positive feeling about their cycles and research a ritual. I began to study the way women connected with their bodies and what rituals we did or did not do. In my research I found that we were very disconnected and my studies became intent on finding a way to be feminine and proud; helping and insisting that women partake in ceremonies to rejoice in our changes and welcome and celebrate our connection to the earth. This is when "SHE TEA" was born. I wanted to create a tea that would replace the pills that morphed our pain and disconnected us from our cycles. I created "SHE TEA" so that women would take control of our body's functions and have a more intimate relationship with themselves. I feel like "SHE TEA" is the first step to women reconnecting and starting the revolution. I hope that you will come to feel the same way.
Peacefully,
Aisha Oni

Aisha Oni Alayande
Aisha and youngest daughter, Fidele
Aisha Alayande’s education in the healing power of herbs began over 30 years ago as an apprentice to her grandmother and great aunt. Herbs like roselle, cerasse, peppermint, hibiscus, ginger and rose hips were always brewed for a healthy drink. In 2003 her mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimers and in an attempt to find an alternative treatment, Aisha and her husband began studying herb books but Aisha never stopped. Soon she started following the work of medicine women and taking courses in botanical medicine and holistic healing.
In 2004, she opened up The Healing Pot, an herbal tea company dedicated to preventing dis-ease. With this company she fuses her love of tea, natural health and writing. Her focus of study has been in holistic health for the reproductive system. She enjoys communicating ways in which to regulate and honor a woman's moon-time (menstrual cycle) as well as create a welcoming womb for families that want a child. Eloquently and effortlessly, she reminds all that we must connect with our bodies and the earth so that we are functioning properly and not falling victim to the poor choices some make when it comes to mental, physical and spiritual nourishment.
Aisha and her husband have 6 healthy children. They have experienced a natural birth in a hospital, twins delivered via cesarean section, one vbac and two home births, one of which was unassisted. Her editorial publications include, Honey Magazine and The Art and Science of Beautiful Skin, she is the Expert Herbalist for NaturalBabyPros.com and she writes articles about holistic health and the benefits of herbs on her website, thehealingpot.com. Her holistic studies and training as well as her childbirth experience and education make her a great resource for the world of natural health and childbirth. She is convinced that if you come to her, you believe that you are your first health care practitioner.
Aisha loves being a woman, wife and mother and enjoys doing yoga with her kids, playing volleyball, scrabble, identifying herbs, watching her children perform and watching “The Wedding Crashers” with her husband over and over again.
